After the Purify, which is always Step 2, you will either use this product or you will use the Botanical Scalp Activator (in the Level 2 and Level 3 kits), wait 5 minutes, then use this product.  The combination of Cert. Org. ethanol made from GMO-free corn and Cert. Org. lavender essential oil is infused with phosphorous, a necessary component of life. Phosphorous helps to balance pH which helps to prevent the formulation of free radicals.  In layman's terms, free radicals are little fragments of molecules that break off of things like sebum molecules as they degrade.  This is how rancid oil is formed and, yes, sebum goes rancid on your scalp making the follicles sick if not cleaned away thoroughly.

This product should be applied immediately after towel drying or after use of Botanical Scalp Activator to seal the scalp in a microscopically thin layer of natural phosphorous.  This prevents sebum from reacting with oxygen to form free radicals.  Instead, sebum will react with this phosphorous layer forming a harmless sebaceous salt that does not affect the follicles.  You can then be confident your treatment will last for at least 24 hours until your next session.
